A combination of palpation and ultrasound appears to be the best method for diagnosing plaques in patients with Peyronie’s disease. E. W. Hauck and colleagues from the department of urology, Justus Liebig University, Giessen, Germany, investigated the usefulness of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) with palpation and ultrasound for the evaluation of plaque formation in 57 patients Peyronie’s disease.
These patients underwent ultrasonography at 7.5 MHz as well as MRI during flaccidity and erection induced by prostoglandin E(1), including intravenous application of Gadolinium-diethylenetriaminepentaacetic acid (Gd-DPTA)….
