A new formulation of beclomethasone dipropionate using hydrofluoroalkane-134a (HFA-BDP) is a safe and effective treatment for children with asthma, according to a report in the December issue of Chest.
HFA-BDP delivers the drug as an extrafine aerosol that results in improved lung deposition compared with chlorofluorocarbon (CFC)-BDP, Dr. Anjuli Nayak, of the University of Illinois, Peoria, and colleagues note.
