Lead investigator Dr. Ramona L. Doyle of Stanford University in California told Reuters Health that these results suggest that “patients with PAH should be screened and monitored for thyroid disease, and that patients with thyroid disease who are experiencing respiratory or cardiac symptoms should be screened for PAH.”
