Europe’s second-biggest drugmaker AstraZeneca Plc said on Sunday that it remained confident about the safety of its lung cancer drug Iressa after the Japanese government said the medicine had been linked with 39 deaths.
“We remain confident about the safety profile of Iressa,” a spokesman for the Anglo-Swedish drugmaker told Reuters.
