Treatment with the endothelin-A receptor antagonist sitaxsentan appears to improve the exercise capacity and cardiopulmonary hemodynamics of patients with pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH), according to a report in the June issue of Chest.
Despite these encouraging finding, the drug may have serious adverse hepatic effects and further studies are needed.
