Although inhaled fluticasone propionate is an effective and widely used treatment in patients with asthma and reactive airway disease, certain users may experience laryngitis and dysphonia, according to an Atlanta-based researcher.
Writing in the June issue of the Archives of Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery, Dr. John M. DelGaudio of Emory University School of Medicine, notes that in his practice “an increasing number of patients who are using fluticasone are being referred for evaluation of dysphonia.”
