NEW YORK (Reuters Health) May 31 – Following the September 11th World Trade Center attack, there was an increase in reported use of cigarettes, alcohol, and marijuana among Manhattan residents, according to survey findings appearing in the June 1st issue of the American Journal of Epidemiology.
Dr. David Vlahov, from the Center for Urban Epidemiologic Studies, New York Academy of Medicine, and colleagues conducted a telephone survey of 988 Manhattan residents 5 to 8 weeks after the event.
