Desipramine effectively reduces symptoms in children with chronic tic disorder and attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), according to a report in the July issue of the Archives of General Psychiatry.
Tic disorder occurs commonly with ADHD. Previous studies have documented the benefits of desipramine treatment for ADHD, the authors explain, but results of this treatment for tic symptoms have been mixed.
