The National Institutes of Health needs to work much more closely with industry to find cures for disease and improve global health and will “aggressively” seek out partnerships with private companies, newly appointed NIH director Elias Zerhouni said Wednesday.
Zerhouni spoke at the Biotechnology Industry Organization’s (BIO) Partnership for Global Health Forum, which brought together biotech companies, government, and private, nonprofit groups seeking to eradicate infectious disease worldwide. It was co-sponsored by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
