Children born to women exposed to high levels of polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) appear to have slightly lower IQs and more behavioral problems than children whose mothers were not exposed to the pollutant, new findings suggest.
The findings are part of an ongoing study of children born to mothers who were accidentally exposed to PCBs in Taiwan in 1978 and 1979, according to the report published in the November issue of the Archives of General Psychiatry.
