There does not appear to be any significant association between long-term risk of fractures and Crohn’s disease, according to the results of a population-based study by Mayo Clinic researchers.
Dr. Edward V. Loftus Jr., and colleagues in Rochester, Minnesota, collected data on 238 Crohn’s disease patients and matched controls living in Olmstead County, Minnesota. The patients had been diagnosed with Crohn’s disease between 1940 and 1993.
