Patients with mandibular third molars increase their chance of an angle fracture when
sustaining a mandible fracture.
In addition, the risk appears to be determined by the position of the molars, say American researchers.
They retrospectively examined the relationship between the presence of mandibular third
molars and angle fractures in 1,210 patients who had sustained a mandibular fracture.
