Forty percent of physicians say drug companies’ advertising of medicines to consumers had a somewhat or very positive impact on their practices and patients, but nearly one third said the effect was somewhat or very negative, according to a survey reported on Monday.
The findings are part of the preliminary results from a US government survey of physicians’ attitudes toward the flood of so-called direct-to-consumer drug advertisements.
