Nearly 70% of patients treated with the prostaglandin analogue latanoprost experience increased iris pigmentation, according to a recent report by Spanish researchers.
Dr. M. A. Teus and colleagues, from the University of Alcala in Madrid, assessed iris color changes in 43 patients who were treated with latanoprost for glaucoma. In contrast to previous studies, the current study only included patients who used the drug in only one eye. The minimum follow-up period was 12 months.
