In children with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL), the persistence of lymphoblasts in bone marrow on day 15 and days 22 to 25 of remission induction portends a poor treatment outcome.
“These very high-risk patients require novel or more intensive therapy to improve outcome,” Dr. John T. Sandlund and colleagues from St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee suggest in the July 1st issue of the journal Blood.
