New research from Canada suggests that rather than being just a stop on cancer’s way to other organs, cells in the lymph nodes may play an active role in promoting the spread of breast cancer.
Dr. Pnina Brodt and colleagues, from McGill University in Montreal, isolated two lines of lymph node stromal cells from rats. Human and rat breast cancer cells were then grown in culture with these stromal cells.
