A cancer specialist has warned that too much emphasis on molecular biology in the medical curriculum may lead to the dehumanisation of doctors.
To avoid this danger and ensure doctors practise medicine in an ethical and humane manner, Professor Michael Baum, from University College London Cancer Trials Centre, called for students to be taught the arts and humanities.
