LONDON (Reuters Health) Apr 04 – Scientists announced this week they have found new clues that may explain why drug therapy so often fails in patients with small-cell lung cancer. Dr. Michael Seckl and his team at Imperial College and Hammersmith Hospital, London, hope their discovery will open the way to designing more effective drugs.
The benefits of etoposide, a primary drug used to treat small-cell lung cancer, are usually short-lived as the cells often develop resistance.
