Many women who successfully stop smoking during pregnancy start again after they give birth, according to a report published in the January issue of the American Journal of Preventive Medicine.
“We think this is an opportunity lost for those concerned with public health because studies show that the longer a person is away from cigarettes, the less likely she is to resume,” study author Dr. Gregory J. Colman, from Pace University in New York, told Reuters Health.
