Inspiratory training leads to functional improvement in the external intercostal muscles of patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) Spanish researchers report in the December 1st issue of the American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine.
Dr. Mauricio Orozco-Levi of Hospital del Mar, Barcelona, and colleagues hypothesized that inspiratory muscle training would be associated with adaptive changes in the relevant musculature.
