Helicobacter pylori infection has previously been linked to chronic open-angle glaucoma, and results of a study reported in the June 10 issue of the Archives of Internal Medicine suggest that eradicating the infection may improve outcome.
“H pylori eradication may positively influence glaucoma parameters, suggesting a possible causal link between H pylori and glaucoma,” write Jannis Kountouras, MD, PhD, from Thessaloniki in Macedonia, Greece.
