Asthma in children can be effectively controlled with montelukast, alone or in combination with other medications, according to the results of a study published in the December issue of the Journal of Asthma.
Dr. Siva Narayanan and colleagues from Merck and Co., Inc., West Point, Pennsylvania, prospectively examined asthma control and patient satisfaction among 175 children with persistent asthma who used montelukast in a clinical practice setting. Data were collected at baseline and after 1 month of treatment.
