NEW YORK (Reuters Health) Jan 03 – A high intake of total, saturated and trans fats, and cholesterol, and a low intake of monounsaturated fatty acids and polyunsaturated fatty acids is not associated with an increased risk of dementia, according to a study published in the December issue of Neurology.
Using data from the Rotterdam Study, researchers examined whether dietary fat intake is associated with an increased risk of dementia. Complete dietary assessment using a food-frequency questionnaire was conducted for 5395 subjects between1990 and 1993
