Although antiepileptic drugs are effective in preventing migraine, their use is only cost-effective in patients who have a high frequency of migraines and in patients with comorbid disease, researchers report.
Dr. James U. Adelman and colleagues from the Headache Wellness Center, Greensboro, North Carolina, performed a cost-effectiveness analysis based on data from three clinical trials of antiepileptic drugs for prevention of migraine, and their cost.
