Smokers who participate in a brief anti-smoking intervention and sustain abstinence for 5 years are highly likely to remain abstinent at 11-year follow-up, according to a report published in the October issue of Preventive Medicine.
Findings from another study, published in the same issue, indicate that ex-smokers’ perceptions of health match those of never smokers after at least 11 years of not smoking.
