Results of a study published in the September issue of the Journal of Rheumatology suggest that patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) who have poor initial functional status and declining functional status have a significantly increased risk of mortality.
“The impact of poor function and worsening function were not dependent on other factors, such as demographic characteristics or symptoms of illness,” Dr. Edward Yelin told Reuters Health.
