NEW YORK (Reuters Health) May 29 – Intake of vitamin C appears to slow the decline in FEV1 that occurs with age, according to a report published in the May 1st issue of the American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine.
Mounting evidence suggests that vitamin C and other antioxidant vitamins and minerals may be involved in the etiology of asthma and COPD. High intake of vitamins C, A, and E have been linked to higher levels of lung function, but it was unclear whether the relationships were causal.
