FRANKFURT, GERMANY — April 16, 2002 — Allegra® (fexofenadine), one of the most widely used antihistamines in the world for the relief of seasonal allergies and chronic idiopathic urticaria, has been approved in Japan to treat the itching associated with dermatological diseases such as eczema, dermatitis, pruritus cutaneus and atopic dermatitis.
Japan is the second largest allergy market in the world behind the United States, and allergic skin conditions in Japan represent approximately 40 percent of total antihistamine sales there.
