NEW YORK (Reuters Health) Apr 11 – Confirming a pilot study conducted in the pre-cyclosporine era, a recent study shows that a 30% decline in inverse serum creatinine is an excellent predictor of renal allograft failure.
The predictive power of this simple measure is independent of the baseline serum creatinine level, and it is much stronger than the slope of inverse serum creatinine level versus time, according to a report by Dr. Bertram L. Kasiske, of Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis, and colleagues published in the American Journal of Kidney Diseases for April.
