Kinetic Concepts Inc. of San Antonio, Texas, said on Monday that it received a supplementary clearance from the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to market its Vacuum Assisted Closure (VAC) therapy for the treatment of partial thickness burns.
The FDA first cleared the VAC therapy in 1995 for the treatment of acute/traumatic wounds, dehiscent wounds, flaps and grafts, pressure ulcers, chronic wounds and diabetic ulcers, according to the privately held concern.
