What appears to be probable seborrheic keratosis may be melanoma in about 1 of 15 cases, results of a study published in the December issue of the Archives of Dermatology suggest.
Dr. Arthur Zembowicz and colleagues from Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, retrospectively examined the prevalence of melanoma clinically resembling seborrheic keratosis in pathology reports generated between 1992 and 2001.
