NEW YORK (Reuters Health) Apr 23 – A systematic analysis of randomized controlled trials shows that no significant survival advantage can be attributed to the use of interferon-alpha as adjunctive treatment for high-risk melanoma.
Dr. Marko B. Lens and Dr. Martin Dawes, of the Oxford Radcliffe NHS Trust in the UK, identified eight trials, which included 1701 melanoma patients randomized to interferon-alpha treatment and 1477 randomized to observation.
