In a study of Danish utility workers, exposure to electromagnetic fields–even for long durations and at high levels–was not associated with the development of severe cardiac arrhythmias, according to a report published in the November 1st issue of the American Journal of Epidemiology.
The current findings run counter to those of a US study, in which exposure to such fields was found to increase the risk of death from arrhythmia-related conditions and myocardial infarction.
