Findings from a study in Greenland are in agreement with previous reports that the prevalence of allergic diseases in western countries is increasing.
But few studies investigating atopy trends in western countries have used objective measurements, lead author Dr. Tyra Krause, from Statens Serum Institut in Copenhagen, and colleagues note. Furthermore, most of these studies have been limited to industrialized countries.
