Dear Friend and Colleague,
The International Dead Sea Symposium (IDSS) on Cardiac Arrhythmias & Device Therapy is held every two years in Israel under the auspices of NASPE, the European Society of Cardiology and World Heart Federation. It is a pleasure to inform you that the 6th IDSS, which will be our 10th anniversary, will take place in Tel Aviv, March 5-8, 2002 and will be a landmark, presenting the latest developments in cardiac arrhythmias.
Hot topics, such as molecular basis of arrhythmia, non-pharmacological treatment of AF, CHF, and cardiomyopathies, will be subjects of special sessions and satellite symposia. A one-day workshop on basic electrophysiology will be organized, as well as a workshop of ECG interpretation in patients with arrhythmia, pacemakers and ICDs. Other sessions will deal with such topics as arrhythmias in the coronary, medical, respiratory, & surgical units, hypertension and arrhythmias, sudden cardiac death, the results of large clinical trials, and the newest technologies in the management of arrhythmia. Also the cost-effectiveness of various approaches to treatment of cardiac arrhythmia will be discussed.
The symposium is of interest to all those dealing with arrhythmia patients: cardiologists, internists, general practitioners, physicians working in intensive cardiac, medical, and surgical units, and those involved in basic scientific research in clinical, academic and industrial settings. We are planning special sessions for nurses and technicians working in cardiology, EP, pacing, and CCU units.
On behalf of the Organizing and Executive Scientific Committees, it is my pleasure to invite you to participate in the symposium. We hope that you will accept our invitation and take an active part in what promises to be an outstanding international scientific and social event.
