A single evening dose of inhaled mometasone improves lung function and symptoms in asthma, according to two reports presented Tuesday at the meeting of the American College of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology. The steroid is currently in phase III testing for this form and indication.
FEV1 mean change from baseline was similar for daily- and for twice-daily dosing, Dr. Harry Sacks, of Schering-Plough, told conference attendees. Both regimens resulted in FEV1 values that were significantly greater than placebo.
