Women who smoke significantly increase their risk for urinary bladder cancer, according to the results of a population-based study reported in the December 1st issue of Cancer.
Although cigarette smoking has been established as a risk factor for urinary bladder cancer, studies investigating this relationship have included few women, Dr. Aaron R. Folsom and colleagues from the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, explain.
