There are indications that treatment with low doses of azithromycin may reduce eactivity to istamine challenge in mild asthmatics, according to Turkish researchers.
To determine if such treatment might be useful in patients with less severe disease, the researchers studied 11 patients with mild asthma. They were given azithromycin 250 mg twice weekly for 8 weeks.
