NEW YORK (Reuters Health) Oct 11 –
Preinfarction angina pectoris may protect against reperfusion damage in patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI), study results suggest.
In the September 1st issue of the American Journal of Cardiology, Japanese cardiologists note that “the presence of preinfarction angina has been shown to exert a favorable effect on left ventricular function after AMI. Whether or not preinfarction angina is beneficial for myocardial tissue reperfusion, however, remains to be determined.”
