Boston researchers report that through the use of infrared spectroscopy, they can differentiate between stable and unstable plaques in atherosclerosis.
Dr. James E. Muller of InfraReDX. Co. in Cambridge, MA, reported on the progress his company has made in detecting such plaques using their near-infrared spectroscopy system. He presented his findings on Wednesday at Transcatheter Cardiovascular Therapeutics 2002, which is underway in Washington, DC.
