Patients with right ventricular failure (RVF) after cardiac surgery historically have a high mortality rate, but a team of critical care specialists from Hartford Hospital reports that the use of inhaled nitric oxide (INO) reduced postsurgical RVF mortality to 34%.
The study was presented here at CHEST 2002, the 68th annual meeting of the American College of Chest Physicians.
