A peptide derived from the transcription factor ATF2 sensitizes melanoma cells to apoptosis and inhibits their growth and metastasis, according to a report in the September issue of The Journal of Clinical Investigation.
ATF2 plays an important role in the proliferation and resistance to treatment of melanomas, the authors explain, and attenuation of ATF2 activities sensitizes melanoma to treatment.
