Women who already have an underlying degree of insulin resistance may increase their risk of pancreatic cancer by consuming a diet with a high glycemic load, according to a report published in the September 4th issue of the Journal of the National Cancer Institute.
High glycemic load may increase the risk of diabetes and recent studies suggest that glucose intolerance and insulin resistance may play a role in the etiology of pancreatic cancer, the authors explain.
