NEW YORK (Reuters Health) Apr 23 – Women who take vitamin D supplements have a 31% lower risk of death from heart disease compared with women who do not take supplements, a team of researchers from the University of California at San Francisco (UCSF) told attendees of an American Heart Association (AHA) meeting Tuesday. But the investigators hastened to add that the findings are preliminary and cautioned the public against beginning taking supplements based on these findings.
