NEW YORK (Reuters Health) Oct 07 –
After an acute myocardial infarction (AMI), clinical markers of spontaneous reperfusion are associated with good prognosis, Israeli researchers report. Dr. J. Leor from the Sheba Medical Center, Tel-Hashomer, and colleagues collected data on 2382 consecutive AMI patients.
Indicators of spontaneous reperfusion (i.e., within 6 hours of symptom onset) were defined as resolution of ST segment elevation, relief of chest pain, early inversion of T waves, and accelerated idioventricular rhythm.
