For the past 4 years, breast cancer mortality has declined in the US. Cancer specialists now hope to see that decline occur in a majority of other countries, according to members of the first Global Summit Consensus Conference 2002.
“We have brought experts from around the world [to discuss] what is appropriate in screening, diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer, focusing on countries of limited or moderate resources,” said Dr. Benjamin Anderson, director of the University of Washington Breast Care and Cancer Program.
