Uveitis Diagnosis More Reliable With New Microscopy

Disorders of the eye may be more reliably diagnosed and controlled with a new technique, confocal microscopy, according to data reported here this week at the 31st annual meeting of the American College of Clinical Pharmacology.

 Dr. Patricia Williams, professor at the Thomas R. Lee Center for Ocular Pharmacology at Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, presented findings in eight patients who had known uveitis. The patients were examined before and after cataract surgery with the new technique and with the current standard procedure, which uses a slit lamp.
