Intravenous glutathione administration prolongs pain-free walking distance and improves circulatory parameters in patients with peripheral obstructive arterial disease, according to the results of a randomized trial.
Among patients in the glutathione group, pain-free walking improved from a mean of 113 m to 221 m (p < 0.04). There was only a slight, nonsignificant increase in pain-free walking seen among those in the placebo group, the researchers found.
